RE: UPDATE ON ADVENTIST RETIREMENT PLUS COVID-19 RESPONSE

I am pleased to be able to confirm that our residential aged care facilities are still free of COVID-19 and I pay tribute to our staff for their commitment to keeping our residents safe. Indeed, the dedication they have demonstrated to the love and care of our residents despite trying circumstances has been nothing less than amazing. If you would like to support our staff, I would encourage you to visit our Facebook page and post a message to them. You can find us on Facebook by going to https://www.facebook.com/arplussq/

Having now completed our first four weeks since implementing our COVID-19 response it’s fair to say, as I am certain it is for you as well, that we are beginning to get used to the new norm with respect to being restricted within our home. Our teams have continued to look at ways to interact and keep engaging with our residents and it was nice to see this reflected on Friday morning when Channel 9’s the Today Show featured some of our staff on their program doing their best to keep the mood light and fun within our Victoria Point facility.

Our rollout of tablets continues and we have seen strong demand for both the shared devices as well as having received orders for personal devices both for purchase and for rent. This has been a great initiative and we have already heard of many wonderful examples of people being able to connect. The truly rewarding part of this from our perspective has been the sheer joy being demonstrated at having a way to still be able to keep in contact. If you have not already, I strongly encourage you to make contact with us to enquire about how you can participate.

At present we are now also conducting visits through the glass at our Melody Park, Victoria Point and Caloundra sites and our team at Capricorn will be able to do so as soon as the current renovations are completed. This initiative is just another way that we are trying to do all we can to maintain interactions between families, friends and our residents whilst keeping everyone safe.

Once again, a big thank you to all of you for your understanding and support of our organisation and most importantly our team. Your thanks and words of encouragement make a big difference to us and help us see that our community values and appreciates the work that we carry out every single day.

Stay safe and God bless,

Eric Anderson.
